Monaco canceled

With pain in our hearts we have to inform you that we were recently informed that the Monaco World Championship, which would take place from June 30 to July 4, 2020, has been canceled. The organization has announced that the safety and health of the participants and visitors is a priority. Logically, the international character of this event also plays a major role in this. The next edition will be in July of 2021.

Other events

We have informed you in previous updates that a large part of our other races and events, unfortunately, cannot continue. It concerns the following domestic events:

– Boat reveal, scheduled for April 15th

– Solar Sport One Groningen, on May 14th, 15th & 16th

– NK Akkrum on May 21st, 22nd & 23rd

– Solar Sport One Purmerend on June 4th, 5th & 6th

The organization of the Solar Sport One competition is looking into whether these canceled races can be moved to a later time this year. As you can understand, there is a lot of uncertainty about whether this will be possible in the future. An alternative date is not possible for the NK in Akkrum, which means that the NK will unfortunately not take place this year.

Agenda for the rest of the season

With this update in the agenda, the first race of Solar Boat Twente is on September 4th and 5th this year. In the meantime, we are looking at alternative possibilities to still show our new boat to the public. We have some nice ideas, but these also depend on what is allowed with the measures concerning the virus. In addition, we will reveal the boat this year by digital means. More information will follow later, keep an eye on our social media!
